Tyro Buddy is a study aid for learning Nigerian law. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Tyro Buddy app, the Tyro Buddy website and the online chatbot at tyrobuddy.com.ng.

1. What we collect

• Your account: your username, email address and password. Passwords are stored securely and we cannot see them.
• Your questions: when you ask a question online, it is processed to produce your answer (see section 3).
• Basic technical information: limited records needed to keep the service running and secure.

We do not collect your location, contacts or photos, we do not show adverts, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone.

2. What stays on your device

• Your chat history, progress and settings are saved on your own device.
• Documents you upload are read on your device. The files themselves are not uploaded to us.

3. How your questions are answered

To answer your questions, Tyro Buddy may use trusted third-party AI services. The information needed to answer (your question, relevant learning material and recent conversation context) is processed by these services solely to generate your answer, under their own privacy terms. Please don't include personal details about yourself or others in your questions.

4. Optional features

Some features, such as web search and voice input, may use your device's or a third party's services when you choose to turn them on.

5. Service providers and where data is stored

We use trusted service providers to run Tyro Buddy (for example, for accounts, hosting and AI). Some of them may store or process data outside Nigeria, with appropriate safeguards in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your account details for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account details. Information stored on your device stays there until you clear it, for example by logging out and clearing the app's data.

7. Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Email us at the address below and we will respond promptly. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

8. Children

Tyro Buddy is designed for law students and other learners. It is not intended for young children.

9. Not legal advice

Tyro Buddy is a study aid. Its answers may be incomplete or wrong, and it is not a substitute for a legal practitioner.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date above. Important changes will be shown in the app.
